What's new compared with the Active 2
Reviewers list these upgrades over the Active 2:
- Sapphire glass as standard, which resists scratches better than ordinary glass.
- Four buttons, replacing the Active 2's two-button layout.
- A larger battery for longer life.
- Advanced running metrics, including lactate threshold, running power and ground contact time.
- Offline maps and Zepp Coach training plans.
- A brighter display.
What it lacks
One reviewer notes it doesn't have the endurance battery modes or trail navigation of Amazfit's Balance and T-Rex series. If you run ultras or hike remote trails, look at the T-Rex models in our range.
Active 3 Premium vs Active Max
The Active Max, also in our range, has a bigger 1.5-inch screen and up to 25 days of battery, but uses an aluminium frame. The Active 3 Premium has a stainless steel frame, sapphire glass and stronger running features. Pick by what you value most.
Who it's for
Runners who want advanced metrics at a mid-range price.
Buyers who want a stylish watch with a premium feel.
Anyone upgrading from the Active 2.
