Key specs at a glance

The box confirms the 140 W rating, Bluetooth 5.3 and HDMI. Other figures come from Hisense and retailer listings, which differ slightly on sound formats, so ask our team to confirm the formats supported, the box contents and the warranty of the unit you order.

What's in the box

The soundbar, the wireless subwoofer, a power adapter for the soundbar, a power cable for the subwoofer, and a remote, per retailer listings. Ask us to confirm.

What it's good at

It's a simple, affordable upgrade over a TV's thin built-in speakers. A dedicated subwoofer adds bass you can feel, and the soundbar makes voices clearer. Setup is easy: connect one HDMI cable to your TV's ARC port, or use optical or AUX, then pair the subwoofer. Bluetooth 5.3 lets you stream music from your phone, and the USB port plays audio files from a flash drive.

What to know

It's a compact 2.1 system with a 4.5-inch subwoofer, so it won't fill a large room the way the bigger bars in our range do. It has no rear speakers and no Dolby Atmos. The soundbar is about 760 mm wide, so it suits TVs from roughly 32 inches up, and looks short under a very large TV.

About the watt rating

Watts are a manufacturer's maximum power figure. They help you compare systems of the same type, but they don't tell you how good or loud a soundbar will sound in your room.

Who it's for

Buyers who want better TV sound on a tight budget.

Bedrooms, small living rooms and students' rooms.

Anyone who wants a simple plug-in setup.

How it compares

The HS2100 and HS3100, also in our range, have more power and DTS Virtual:X. The HS5100 and AX5100Q add rear speakers for real surround sound. The Sony HT-S400 is a similar 2.1 system at a higher price.

Check your TV first

Most TVs connect with a single HDMI cable to the soundbar's HDMI ARC port, or with an optical cable. Tell us your TV model and we'll confirm the best connection.
