It follows a young martial artist seeking revenge against five assassins who killed their family, using a Pak Mei kung-fu-inspired combat style across tightly designed, hand-to-hand-combat-focused levels.

The game's most distinctive mechanic is its unusual approach to death: rather than a traditional respawn, dying causes your character to age forward, resurrected but visibly older, gaining changed stat trade-offs (more powerful but with reduced maximum health) up to a point where aging too far results in permanent death and a level restart.
