Microsoft's hardware in this catalogue is mostly Xbox, and Xbox's strongest argument is Game Pass: a subscription that gives you a large library outright, with Microsoft's own titles arriving on day one. If you play a lot of different games rather than a few big ones, it is comfortably the cheapest way to play.
The consoles split by intent. Series X is the full-power machine with a disc drive; Series S is much cheaper and smaller, plays the same games at lower resolution, and is digital-only. Xbox controllers are also the default choice for PC gaming, since Windows supports them natively.
Surface is Microsoft's own PC line — well-built tablets and laptops that run full Windows, aimed at study and office work rather than gaming.
