Honor began as Huawei's value sub-brand and was sold off in 2020, which crucially means Honor phones ship with full Google services — the thing that limited Huawei phones. Since separating, Honor has pushed upmarket with genuinely premium design and camera hardware.
Its consistent strengths are battery and charging: Honor routinely ships larger batteries and much faster chargers than similarly priced rivals, and its recent flagships are among the thinnest phones with big cells. For heavy users that is the most noticeable day-to-day difference.
The Magic series are the flagships, the X series are the value workhorses, and the Magic V foldables compete directly with Samsung's Fold.
