Garmin in Kenya
Serious sport watches with battery measured in weeks, not hours.
Garmin comes from aviation and marine navigation, and it shows: its GPS accuracy and training metrics are why runners, cyclists, swimmers and triathletes choose it over a general-purpose smartwatch.
The headline advantage is battery. Where a smartwatch needs charging nightly, a Garmin typically runs one to three weeks, and solar models can extend that dramatically. For multi-day hikes, long races or simply not thinking about charging, nothing else compares.
The trade-off is that Garmin is a sports watch first. Notifications work, but the app ecosystem is far thinner than Apple Watch or Wear OS. Buy it to train, not to replace your phone.

Expected next from Garmin
Not confirmed by Garmin. These are expectations based on the brand’s past release pattern, not announcements. Specifications, names, pricing and dates can all change, and we don’t take pre-orders against them.
- Expected on a one-to-two year cycle
Next Forerunner / Fenix generation
Garmin refreshes lines on staggered cycles and does not pre-announce. Unconfirmed.
Buy Forerunner if you run, Edge if you cycle, Instinct if you want battery and toughness above all, and Fenix if you want one watch to do everything. Choose an Apple or Pixel Watch instead if apps and notifications matter more than training data.
